Village of Air Ronge Seeking a Public Works Foreman

The Village of Air Ronge is inviting applications for a full-time, permanent Public Works Foreman to join our Municipal operations team.

This position reports to the Chief Administration Officer (CAO) and is responsible for organizing and directing all public works and infrastructure-related functions, including maintenance and operations management planning, scheduling, procurement, supervision, and reporting.

This position is responsible for directing the maintenance and operations of all equipment and facilities, hydrants, lift stations and related utility infrastructure, parks and rinks, roadways, drainage, refuse collection, and signage in the Village.

The Foreman establishes and maintains an occupational health and safety program and ensures that all Workplace Safety and Health standards are followed by staff and contractors.

The Foreman may respond to emergency situations and be required to be on call on a rotational basis, including evenings and weekends.

The Public Works Foreman is offered an annual salary range of $77,350 to $91,000, dependent upon experience and qualifications. The Village of Air Ronge offers a competitive benefits package including pension, and professional development opportunities.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS

  • Grade 12 or equivalent education and a minimum of two (2) years of supervisory or management experience in a municipal public works setting.
  • Certification in water treatment, water distribution, wastewater treatment and wastewater collection would be an asset.
  • A valid Saskatchewan Class 5 Drivers License. A Class 1 drivers license and/or Air Endorsement (A) would be an asset.
  • Prior experience and knowledge of maintenance and operation of heavy equipment typical of a Public Works department. A practical knowledge of the operation, care, and maintenance of small tools/equipment.
  • Knowledge of current legislation and safe work practices, including workplace health and safety, employment standards, water and wastewater systems, road construction, drainage systems, environment, etc.), as well as municipal budgeting and reporting practices.
  • Must be able to work in a team environment; interact positively with supervisors, other staff, contractors, and the general public.
