SUMA Council Summer School

August 13 and 14, 2026 I University of Regina and online

Council Summer School is an exclusive professional development opportunity created specifically for elected municipal leaders. Open to mayors and council only, join your peers for two immersive days of learning at the University of Regina or participate online from anywhere in the province. This dynamic program explores essential topics tailored to the realities of municipal leadership, including LAFIOP, regional cooperation, governance best practices, and other issues impacting today’s councils.

Through practical sessions led by experienced professionals, attendees will gain actionable tools, fresh perspectives, and innovative ideas to bring back to their own municipalities. Just as valuable are the opportunities to connect with fellow mayors and councillors, exchange experiences, and build relationships that strengthen collaboration across communities.

Designed exclusively for mayors and council members, Council Summer School is your chance to step away from the day-to-day, sharpen your leadership skills, and refocus on serving your community with confidence and clarity. Don’t miss this opportunity to learn, network, and elevate your impact as a municipal leader.
