Join us for SUMA's second biggest event of the year! SUMA member meetings are a great opportunity to get to know your peers, learn about successes and challenges experienced by other municipalities, and hear updates from SUMA and our partners. We kick off the beginning of each year with the Virtual SUMA Summit (formerly SUMA Sector Meetings) where all members are invited to discuss priorities for their sector, hear from SUMA, and participate in learning opportunities.
WHAT CAN I EXPECT?
SUMA member meetings provide an excellent opportunity to connect with peers, share experiences, and hear updates from SUMA and our partners. The morning will begin with a keynote presentation on the critical role of boundaries in sustaining resilience and effectiveness as a municipal leader, followed by important updates from SUMA and its partners.
Before breaking for lunch, attendees will hear election speeches for the Northeast Towns, West Central Villages/Resort Villages, and East Central Villages/Resort Villages. The call for nominations for these regions is now closed.
In the afternoon, participants will join sector-specific breakout sessions tailored to cities, towns, northern municipalities, and villages/resort villages. These sessions will feature education designed for each sector, opportunities to highlight community successes during Urban Spotlight, and an open forum to discuss issues relevant to your sector. Northeast Towns, West Central Villages/Resort Villages, and East Central Villages/Resort Villages will take part in caucus elections following the education session.
The Virtual SUMA Summit is driven by members, and we encourage you to bring forward topics for discussion. Together, we look forward to a day filled with meaningful dialogue, shared learning, and stronger connections among Saskatchewan’s municipalities.

KEYNOTE SPEAKER, ASHLEY BRELAND
Ashley Breland is a compassionate social work therapist and proud owner of Breland Counselling & Consulting, holds a special interest in trauma, body acceptance, and life adjustments. Ashley creates a supportive and inclusive environment for personal growth and transformation, challenging internal and external oppressions through ongoing education and advocacy.
Ashley's keynote invites municipal leaders to reflect on the critical role of boundaries in sustaining resilience and effectiveness, exploring how external pressures combine with internal challenges to erode boundaries and fuel burnout. By examining the link between boundary setting and leadership sustainability, the session highlights practical insights for strengthening municipal leadership in the face of complex demands.

CAUCUS ELECTIONS
Caucus election for vacant positions on the towns and villages/resort villages caucuses will take place during the afternoon of the Virtual SUMA Summit. If you are looking to expand your reach beyond your local council, or get more involved in SUMA, running for the town or village caucus representative for your region is a great opportunity to do just that!
The call for nominations for these regions is open until January 2 at 5:00 p.m. For more information about the call for nominations, click here.
We encourage those of you in relevant sectors to join and run for a caucus position or cast your vote for your regional representative.

Registration is open to representatives from all SUMA member municipalities. The cost to attend is $40/person + GST and PST.
