Rural Municipality of Lacadena No. 228 Seeking a Full-Time Foreman
The Rural Municipality (RM) of Lacadena No. 228 is currently accepting applications for the full-time position of Foreman. This is a fantastic opportunity for a motivated individual to lead a dedicated public works team in a progressive and welcoming rural community.
As Foreman, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the RM’s maintenance and construction projects, including road grading, equipment maintenance, culvert installations, and general infrastructure care. This hands-on leadership role is key to keeping our RM running smoothly and safely for residents and visitors alike.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and coordinate municipal work crews and equipment.
- Operate and maintain heavy equipment (graders, dozers, track hoe, etc.).
- Schedule, plan, and report on road and infrastructure maintenance.
- Ensure compliance with occupational health and safety standards.
- Participate in the creation of an annual operations budget and capital plan.
- Maintain accurate logs and communicate with the RM CAO and Council.
Qualifications:
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Previous experience in road construction or heavy equipment operation (municipal experience an asset).
- Record keeping skills.
- Valid Class 5 driver’s license (Class 1A preferred).
- Mechanical aptitude and equipment troubleshooting ability.
- Knowledge of RM operations and rural road maintenance is highly desirable.
