More than $53.9 million in joint federal-provincial funding has been announced for 46 projects designed to improve water quality and enhance local roads in Saskatchewan.
François-Philippe Champagne, Minister of Infrastructure and Communities, and Government Relations Minister Warren Kaeding made the funding announcement today. The governments of Canada and Saskatchewan, through the Small Communities Fund, will each provide more than $26.9 million for the 46 projects, representing approximately two-thirds of the total project costs. Recipients are responsible for the remaining costs.
Forty-one of the projects being funded are related to water and wastewater, four are road projects, and one is a disaster mitigation project.
