City of Flin Flon Seeking a Works and Operations Foreman
The City of Flin Flon is presently accepting applications for the permanent position of Foreman - Works and Operations.
- Supervise, direct, and deploy staff and equipment.
- Schedule work and work force for maximum efficiency and cost effectiveness.
- Where applicable, ensure that the required permits and traffic control plans are in place to allow work to be completed safely. Ensure public notification of work as per City of Flin Flon policy.
- Communicate and cooperate with all personnel as situations require, including other City personnel, contractors, members of the public, and public utilities.
- Be familiar with the Collective Bargaining Agreement where it applies.
- Conduct inspections, investigations, prepare reports, and recommend corrective action as required.
- Responsible for work site safety, conduct toolbox talks, and be well versed with supervisory responsibilities under the WH&S regulations.
- Participate in the emergency call out rotation.
- Other duties as required
Qualifications
- Applicants require a High School Diploma supplemented with either a diploma in Civil Engineering Technology (or related field) or a Journeyperson Certificate in a related field.
- Applicants must have a minimum of eight (8) years supervisory experience.
- Applicants must have a valid class 5 Driver's License and willing to obtain a class 3 Driver’s License with air brake endorsement.
- Knowledge of heavy equipment operation and experience in snow and ice control.
- Knowledge of the operation and maintenance of water and sewer systems; Certified Water Distribution Level ll and Wastewater Collection Level ll. (*Levels can be obtained during employment.)
- Project Management training an asset.
