Virtual General Meeting
In March, the Board of Directors announced that we would be proceeding with an electronic membership vote on changing our name from the SUMA (SUMA) to SUMA.
On June 1 from 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m., we are hosting a virtual general meeting on the rebranding for all municipal members. The AGM style event is an opportunity to discuss the rebranding with the Board of Directors and for municipal leaders to share their thoughts.

All municipal leaders from our member municipalities are encouraged to attend.
Voting
The electronic membership vote on rebranding from SUMA to SUMA will open immediately following the event on June 1.
Only voting delegates - elected officials representing a member municipality in good standing who are authorized to serve as voting delegates by their council - are eligible to vote. On May 28, each member municipality will receive electronic ballots based on their number of voting delegates (this is the same number of voting delegates that a municipality has at convention). The ballots, provided by Data on the Spot (DOTS), will be sent to the main contact for each member municipality. The municipality can then distribute the ballots to each of their voting delegates.
Voting will be open from noon on June 1 to noon on June 3 to allow councils time to discuss.
