Requiring Immigrant Doctors to Serve Three Years in Smaller Communities

Year: 2000

Resolution

Therefore be it resolved that SUMA lobby the Saskatchewan College of Physicians and Surgeons and the Provincial Government to have the bylaws of the College amended so that newly immigrating doctors wishing to practice in our province be required to work for three years in a rural community of less than 10,000 people. Note: This resolution did not appear in the earlier booklet but was accepted by the Resolutions Committee and by convention delegates as an emergent resolution.
