Year: 2013

Resolution

Whereas the communities of Saskatchewan are continually facing shortages of doctors, full health care, and emergency services; and Whereas the costs for residents to travel farther to meet their health care needs have escalated and can be substantial; and Whereas the population of Saskatchewan is increasingly putting pressure on our health care system; Therefore be it resolved that the SUMA lobby the Government of Saskatchewan to adopt a policy that will forgive student loans to a maximum of $100,000.00 for medical students that accept a posting in communities outside of Regina and Saskatoon for a continuous period no less than five years.
