Removal of Education Portion of Property Taxes

Whereas education tax is currently on assessment values; and Whereas assessed value is not an indication a person’s ability to pay; and Whereas education tax is market-inflated, which is unrealistic when compared to incomes; Therefore be it resolved that The SUMA partner with the Provincial Association of Resort Communities of Saskatchewan (PARCS) to lobby the provincial government for the removal of the education portion of property taxes.
