Allow Rural Municipalities to convert to an Urban Municipality

Resolution
Therefore be it resolved that SUMA request that the Ministry of Municipal Affairs to make changes to its current legislation to enable rural municipalities to change their status to that of an urban municipality.

Response The Ministry is willing to review this issue the next time The Municipalities Act is open for amendments. As part of the review, all interested stakeholders will be consulted. Support from all stakeholders will be needed.
