Remove Five Year Water Plant Assessments
Year: 2007
Resolution
Therefore be it resolved that the SUMA request the Government of Saskatchewan to change the legislation so that the engineering reassessments of waterworks are conducted at the request of the Environmental Protection Officer and that all communities attached to the water system be assessed with the water system.
Provincial Response
Resolution: The revised regulatory requirements are now in effect and reduce the frequency or eliminates the requirement for a water works system assessment for certain systems based on the water source and populations for the community or size of the pipeline system. In the case of larger systems, some surface water based systems and systems with groundwater influenced by surface water which carry increased risk, the pre-existing frequency for a waterworks system assessment of once every five years remains in effect.
