Changing the Property Tax System from Market Value to Benefits Received

Be it resolved that SUMA lobby the provincial government to move away from a market value or income based property tax system and move toward one that can be administered easily by individual municipalities, that is stable and does not fluctuate widely from year to year or vary because of location, that directly relates dollars paid to benefits received, and that makes clear to taxpayers how policy makers are accountable.
