New Flood Mitigation Programming for Hometowns

Aug 1, 2018

There's new help available to hometowns with long-term flood mitigation projects.

The provincial government's new Flood Damage Reduction Program is designed to help municipalities in their proactive planning to address emergencies before they arise.
A total of $1.5 million in funding is available this year through the program.

Project proposals are being accepted in four categories:

  • Structural
  • Mitigation planning
  • Flood plain mapping
  • Hydologic and/or hydraulic investigations

Eligible projects will be cost-shared on a 50/50 basis between the Saskatchewan Water Security Agency and the community. Applications are being accepted until October 30.
