August 12, 2018 - August 14, 2018
An intensive leadership and governance workshop open is in the works for this year's class.
Registration for the Class of 2018 will begin June 4, with summer school happening August 12-14 at the University of Regina.
THE 5 Ws!
Who? For all mayors and councillors in our wonderful province. This is a leadership and governance workshop geared towards elected officials.
What? A two-and-a-half-day workshop that will provide entertaining team-building activities, exciting guest speakers, and problem solving with your peers. All meals are included in the registration fee except Monday night’s dinner. Dress code is casual.
Where? Almost everything takes place at the University of Regina campus. If you are looking for affordability, SUMA has arranged the option for you to stay right on campus at the University of Regina's new residence (Kisik Towers). These private dorms consist of a bed, desk, and your own private washroom. If you are looking for comfort, SUMA has reserved a block at the Travelodge. More information on this will be available at a later date.
When? Check in starts at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 12, and the last session will wrap up in the afternoon on Tuesday, August 14.
Why? SUMA is focused on providing valuable educational opportunities to our members through workshops, meetings, summits, and the annual convention. Elected officials play a vital role in Saskatchewan’s urban governments, and equipping members with the best tools and knowledge available to fulfill this role to their very best of their capabilities is important to us. Sharing ideas, brainstorming, and networking with peers will undoubtedly strengthen your role as an elected official.
