Town of Nipawin Seeks a General Manager of Corporate Services
The Town of Nipawin is seeking a General Manager of Corporate Services. Reporting to the CAO, and as a member of the Senior Leadership Team, the General Manager of Corporate Services is responsible for the financial stewardship of the Town through the development and adoption of appropriate policies, long-range plans, strategies, and compliance with regulatory reporting requirements.
The General Manager of Corporate Services directs, controls, supports, and coordinates the following functions: financial planning, accounting, banking and investments, assessment and taxation, customer service, utility customer transactions, insurance, risk management, asset management, information and technology, and corporate legal liability.
In addition, the General Manager of Corporate Services is responsible for the coordination and oversight for the preparation and overall budget presentation to Council of the operating and capital budget(s) and to provide strategic direction & oversight to internal financial procedures and procurement.
The General Manager of Corporate Services shall fulfill the legislated requirements outlined in the municipal by-laws and as established through Generally Accepted Accounting Principles. The General Manager of Corporate Services will lead the finance staff and provide strategic financial advice to Council, the CAO, and the Senior Leadership Team.
A bachelor's degree in business administration, accounting, or equivalent and a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation or equivalent is preferred.
