UMAAS accepting Proposals for Employment Positions

Under the direction of the UMAAS Executive Board, the Executive Director and Executive Assistant conduct the affairs of the Association in accordance with The Urban Municipal Administrators Act and the Association’s resolutions, bylaws, and policies. Essential functions of the position include the planning and organization of meetings, workshops, and conventions with support from and in consultation with the Executive Board.

The Board of Examiners Secretary deals with all applications for Permits, Conditional, Standard and Advanced Level Certificates, assignment and review of office inspections, approval of mentors, and acts in an administrative and advisory role to the Urban Board of Examiners.

Preferred Requirements:

Preferred applicants will possess Advanced Level Certification issued by the Board of Examiners or education and experience that may be deemed equivalent. Organizational and motivational skills, along with the ability to complete tasks without supervision, are crucial for success in this position. If submitting an application for all three positions, it is expected that the applicant intends for this to be his or her only source of employment.

Complete details of the job positions and related duties are available by contacting  For reference, the remuneration package in 2022 was $65,000 per annum, split Executive Director - 40%, Executive Assistant - 40%, and Board of Examiners Secretary - 20%.  An estimation of the current annual hours of work are Executive Director - 500 to 600 hrs, Executive Assistant - 500 to 600 hrs, and Board of Examiners Secretary - 300 to 400 hrs.UMAAS is a registered employer with the Municipal Employees’ Pension Plan.

Proposals shall include details of qualifications, experience and references along with remuneration expected.  Candidates shall also provide details of office space and resources available and any cost thereof, along with proof of approval from council if the proposal is to house UMAAS facilities within a municipal office.
