SUMA has partnered with Brownlee LLP to provide members free access to Brownlee’s Municipal Helpline. Similar to the service formerly offered by SUMA’s in-house counsel, the helpline is an informal consultation service for municipalities and municipal-related entities (such as municipal corporations and authorities) that require brief and informal guidance or consultation.

The Municipal Helpline is an informal, no-strings-attached consultation service for municipalities and municipal-related entities (such as municipal corporations and authorities) that require brief and informal guidance or consultation.
The Municipal Helpline was created because experience has shown that a 10- to 15-minute discussion of a legal matter when it first arises can often help avoid costly discussion, conflict, and litigation down the road. In short, our Municipal Helpline provides clarity, guidance, and peace of mind; allowing our municipal clients to take a more strategic approach to their legal needs, and to incur the cost of legal services only when actually needed. It is no wonder that so many municipalities see the Brownlee Helpline as their first and most important step in addressing their legal questions and issues.
