Respectful Municipal Workplaces

Creating respectful municipalities goes beyond simply meeting minimum legislative compliance, it also includes providing the tools and strategies for municipal staff and council to be able to create a work environment where everyone feels safe and respected.

In the municipal office, and council chamber, mutual respect lets all municipal employees and representatives know that they are valued for their achievements, abilities, and qualities. Being valued and treated respectfully helps to promote a positive work culture where people feel fulfilled, loyal, engaged, and motivated to perform at their very best.

This Lunch and Learn Session will provide you with the knowledge to:

• Recognize a respectful municipal office.
• Explore why a respectful municipal office is important.
• Identify steps municipalities can take to be proactive.
• Risks of not dealing with respectful workplace issues in the municipal office
