November 20, 2025 - 10:00 am – 11:00 am
online
On Thursday November 20 at 10:00 a.m. join us for the webinar Protecting Our Neighbourhoods, One Tip at a Time as we explore the origins, mission, and impact of Crime Stoppers in Saskatchewan. Participants will learn how the program was born, how anonymity and community involvement became its cornerstone, and how the concept spread across Canada. The session highlights the unique partnership between the public, police, and media, showing how re-enactments, anonymous tips, and rewards have helped solve crimes and build safer communities.
The presentation highlights the current operations of Saskatchewan Crime Stoppers, emphasizing the vital role municipalities play in sustaining the program. As a non-profit, Crime Stoppers relies heavily on contributions from municipalities, individuals, businesses, and community groups, to fund promotions and pay rewards to tipsters. This municipal backing ensures the program can maintain its promise of anonymity, encourage citizens to come forward, and deliver measurable results. By the end of the webinar, participants will understand not only the history and philosophy behind Crime Stoppers but also the critical importance of municipal support in keeping it a trusted, community-driven crime prevention tool.
