Extended Producer Responsibility - What it is and Why it Matters

Webinar/Workshop

October 29, 2025 - 10:00 am – 11:00 am

online

Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) is a policy approach where producers, the businesses that supply packaging and paper to residents, are financially and, in some cases, operationally responsible for those materials throughout their entire life cycle, including end-of-life management.

This webinar Extended Producer Responsibility - What it is and Why it Matters will introduce municipal leaders, including those new to council, to what EPR is, why it matters, and how it impacts local governments. Join us on Wednesday October 29 at 10:00 a.m. as SK Recycles, the organization responsible for managing the recycling of household packaging and paper across Saskatchewan will cover how they got here, the progress already made, where things stand today and what lies ahead. Participants will also gain insights into regulatory changes, what they mean for communities, and the key deadlines to prepare for moving forward.
