Resolutions

Whereas highway construction zones are imperative to creating and maintaining infrastructure within our provinces and territories; and

Whereas highway construction zones are created and maintained differently between provinces and territories, creating confusion between interprovincial drivers, unreasonable highway construction zone set ups, and unsafe driving conditions; and

Whereas the harmonization of major highway construction zones shall create a single standard for all major highway construction zones, thus creating safer roadways for all of us;

Therefore be it resolved that the SUMA advocate the Federal Minister of Transportation to create a committee whose sole task is to harmonize major highway construction zones to the same standard for each province and territory, thus creating less confusion between interprovincial travelers and creating safer highway construction zones.
