Resolution
Whereas the Government of Saskatchewan makes numerous decisions that affect Saskatchewan hometowns, from legislative amendments to infrastructure spending decisions; and
Whereas it is imperative that the voice of urban municipalities is heard when these decisions are made, to ensure that urban priorities are considered; and
Whereas improved urban consultation will also help the Government of Saskatchewan make better decisions, with fewer unintended consequences;
Therefore be it resolved that the SUMA advocate the Government of Saskatchewan to adopt a consultation protocol agreement, under which SUMA would have a seat at the provincial table when decisions that affect Saskatchewan hometowns are being made, including legislative changes and infrastructure priorities.
