Charging a Fee for Fire Fighting Services within a Municipality

Resolution
Therefore Be It Resolved that the SUMA lobby the provincial government to amend The Urban Municipality Act, section 136, so that it is consistent with The Rural Municipality Act, section 214, which enables municipalities to charge a fee for fire fighting services provided to residents within the municipality and empowers them to collect unpaid accounts by adding them to property taxes.
