Transferring School Tax Collection Costs

Resolution
Be it resolved, if school taxes continue to be funded through property tax, that SUMA request the Provincial Government to: A. remove the responsibility for school tax collection from municipalities and transfer it to the Provincial Government or to the school divisions themselves. B. develop a mechanism whereby municipalities can charge a ten (10) per cent administration fee against all taxes collected on behalf of school divisions to compensate for the cost of providing these services. C. make school divisions contribute to paying the cost of administration for school tax collection.
