Resolution

Whereas Saskatchewan is experiencing unprecedented growth which is creating a shortfall in qualified municipal administrators; and Whereas in the next five years municipalities will experience considerable turnover in administrators due to retirements; and Whereas SARM continues to finance an internship training program through an allocation of a portion of their revenue sharing allotment; and Whereas the SUMA has been asked to do the same and to date has not considered this to be a pressing need; Therefore be it resolved that the SUMA lobby the Ministry of Government Relations to allocate a portion of the urban revenue sharing pool to support a municipal administrator internship program.
