Improving Highway Maintenance Service and Existing Shops

Resolution
Be it resolved that SUMA request that the Provincial Government improve the level of highway maintenance service while keeping the existing maintenance shops in full operation.
Provincial Response
The department has no plans to close any maintenance sections at the present time and despite rumours to the contrary has not approved plan to eliminate maintenance sections over the medium or long term. The department remains committed to providing a high level of winter and summer maintenance that is consistent across the 26,000 km provincial highway system and delivered in the most efficient manner possible.
