Town of Regina Beach seeks Superintendent of Public Works

SUPERINTENDENT OF PUBLIC WORKS, TOWN OF REGINA BEACH


Our incoming Superintendent of Public Works will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operation of the municipal utility systems, roads, storm water drainage, general maintenance activities, and supervision of the work crews with a positive attitude and customer focus. Working in concert with the Chief Administrative Officer as an integral part of the management team, the Superintendent of Public Works will also be responsible for budget preparation and fiscal management within the department and will review and create policies and procedures for the effective engagement and utilization of all department personnel, materials, and equipment in accordance with applicable legislation.


You have proven leadership skills as an effective communicator, motivator, mentor, and decision maker relating to dispatching a team of municipal employees to achieve the desired goal of providing efficient results and sustainable infrastructure. Respected leadership will be complemented with skills on equipment used in the maintenance of streets and utilities as well as an understanding of theory, principles, practices and techniques of public works engineering and maintenance.


The preferred candidate will have four or more years of increasing management experience, including personnel management, dispatch and control, with preference given to direct municipal experience. Consideration will also be given to candidates who have senior management experience in related fields and have a knowledge of applicable safety laws and regulations. Class 1 or higher in Water Treatment, Distribution and/or Wastewater Treatment is an asset.
