Emterra Environmental is a private, family-owned, Canadian company, founded in 1976. They deliver collection programs to more than 10 per cent of Canada’s population. In 2013, Emterra built the largest Material Recovery Facility (MRF) in the province. Located in Regina, this MRF processes a wide range of recyclables collected in Saskatchewan. From their experience serving urban, suburban, and rural communities in Saskatchewan, they understand that each community has unique waste management and recycling needs. Emterra creates customized programs that are cost effective and provide convenience to residents. Their services include the collection, hauling and transfer of waste, recycling and organics materials, the operations of depots, transfer stations, and landfills, the processing of recyclables, and the marketing and brokering of commodities. Emterra also offers resident education and promotional material that would describe acceptable and non-acceptable items, bulky waste collection processes and other educational information.
Whether you see it as garbage, waste, trash, rubbish or junk, Emterra sees it another way — as a resource to be collected and recycled into new, usable products.
