Resolution
Whereas urban municipalities have a leadership role in reducing our carbon footprint; and
Whereas urban municipalities support innovation in carbon reduction; and
Whereas cooperating between different levels of government is essential in successfully implementing carbon reduction strategies;
Therefore be it resolved that the SUMA support the provincial government’s position opposing federal carbon pricing.
Be it further resolved that urban municipalities assume a leadership role in adopting carbon reduction strategies.
