Tania Meier began as the Director of Corporate Programs and Member Services in March 2015. Prior to this role, Tania has held the roles of Corporate Services Coordinator, Manager of Corporate Programs, and Event and Corporate Services Manager. She joined the SUMA team in 2007. In her current role she oversees insurance services, SUMAdvantage, event services and member services. Her role focuses on helping members save money; enhancing services, programs and resources for members; marketing of SUMA’s programs; and overseeing SUMA events.
Tania works with the SUMA Board of Directors and is a staff resource to the Convention Planning Committee. She represents SUMA on the following external committees: Municipal Leadership Development Program, Saskatchewan Geospatial Imagery Collaboration, and the Programs and Services Committee.
Having graduated from the well-respected British Columbia Institute of Technology, Tania holds a diploma in Tourism Marketing. She gained extensive event-planning experience from her time spent in the hotel industry as a conference planner with Fairmont Hotels and Resorts.
In 2015 she graduated from the University of Regina with a Master of Business Administration (MBA). The knowledge gained through the program has provided her with skills in leadership, human resources, finance, marketing, strategy, operations and information technology. Her final research project titled Stakeholder Identification and Engagement Fitting for a Municipal Group-Purchasing Program provided her with insight and knowledge to help with the revamped SUMAdvantage program.
In her spare time, she is a director on the Friends of the Royal Saskatchewan Museum board, enjoys attending local events, running, visiting the sites of Regina, and spending time with her furry companion, Koda.
