MLDP is the only program developed for elected and appointed municipal leaders in Saskatchewan.
Mayors, reeves, councillors and municipal staff are able to benefit from this innovative program that is designed to strengthen local government leadership. MLDP is structured around key workshops – or modules - which in most instances, are delivered over a one-day timeframe. The modules target specific issues of importance to northern, rural and urban municipalities. Program participants receive a Certificate of Completion to acknowledge the workshops attended.
Winter 2010 modules
Five modules will run simultaneously on Saturday, January 30 and again on Monday, March 8. All modules will be held in Regina at the Regina Inn from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Review the complete MLDP Winter 2010 schedule or download the registration form.
Please note that while the modules are being held prior to the SUMA and SARM conventions, we will accept registrations from urban, rural and northern municipalities for any of the modules scheduled on either date.
MLDP was designed through a partnership of SUMA, the Saskatchewan Association of Rural Municipalities (SARM), New North, the Urban Municipal Administrators Association of Saskatchewan (UMAAS), the Rural Municipal Administrators Association of Saskatchewan (RMAAS), and the Ministry Municipal Affairs. This program was designed to be responsive to the needs of municipal officials and therefore seeks continuous feedback through the municipal associations regarding the education and training interests of municipalities.
